Marsha Louise Carrier
1948-2024
It is with deep sorrow the family of Marsha Carrier announces her peaceful passing on Monday, December 30, 2024, at the Ottawa General Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones. Marsha was 76 years old.
She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Robert; her granddaughter, Emma ; and her great - grandson, Gabriel (Gabe). Marsha also leaves behind her sisters, Diane Biggar and Carol (Rollie) McInnis, and her cousin, Betty Clark. She was predeceased by her sisters, Judy and Jackie Carrier.Marha’s numerous nieces and nephews will also cherish her fond memories of her.
Marsha was raised in Earnscliffe on the family farm, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lillian (Russell) Carrier. She attended Prince of Whales College and later earned her BBA from UPEI. Marsha dedicated over 30 years of her life working for the PEI Government.
Marsha took great joy in fundraising for the Disabled Sports and spending winter vacations in the south with her beloved niece, April and her sister Diane. She enjoyed many adventures with friends, exploring PEI in her blue Matrix car. A natural problem- solver, Marsha thrived on challenges, whether that meant supporting her colleagues or tackling building renovation projects. Up until a short time before her death she enjoyed daily walks with her Mason Road neighbors. Marsha loved a good story, playing cards, yard sales and keeping up with Facebook Marketplace. Her independence and strong spirit fostered many friendships and joyful times spent with family.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pierre Whitlock for his kindness and exceptional care over the years, as well as the dedicated healthcare professionals at the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre.
Her "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Hennessey Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 from 2-4 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the "Christ Church Cherry Valley Cemetery Fund" in her memory.
