Anne Marie Bolger-Stewart

Surrounded by the love of God, her family and friends, Anne-Marie Bolger-Stewart died on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 after her 13 year roller coaster ride with blood cancer.  Born in Charlottetown on May 25,1953, Anne-Marie was the only child of the late Vernon and Helen (Curran) Bolger.  Beloved wife of David Arthur Stewart, P.Eng (retired).  Dear mother of Lisa MacPherson.  Loving grandmother of Joshua and Cody MacPherson.  Also survived by many cherished cousins and friends; aunt Sister Kathleen Bolger; fellow members of the Free Spirit Womens Alcoholics Anonymous Group; and brother and sister-in law, Gerald and Lorna Stewart.  Anne-Marie will be greatly missed by her sweet fur babies, Levi, Bella Boots, and Scarlett O’Hara.  In addition to her parents and all her Irish ancestors, Anne-Marie was predeceased by her precious infant grandson, John Joseph MacPherson; her inspirational cousin, Lillian McGuigan, who lived to be almost 107 years old; four aunts and ten uncles including her godfather, James Patrick Bolger, and her godmother Julia Curran; her father and mother-in-law, Norman and Helen Stewart; and her beloved cats, Sugar and Eddie Spaghetti.  Anne-Marie was a graduate of UPEI, the University of Toronto, and Dalhousie University.  Until her retirement in 2013, she was employed at Addiction Services for thirty years.  She worked as an alcohol-drug counsellor, Supervisor of Gambling Addiction Services, and finally Supervisor of Adult Addiction Services. Celebration of Life took place on May 14, 2022 – the beautiful spring day on which Anne-Marie and David married each other for the second time. Visitation at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown  Funeral Home  from 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5, 2024. Funeral Mass at St. Dunstan’s Basilica on Saturday, July 6th at 10 a.m.  Private interment of cremains will take place at a later date in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, St. Peter’s Road, Charlottetown.  Donations to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada or the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre would be appreciated.
