Janna Lea Kowalski (nee Reid)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janna Lea Kowalski (nee Reid) on October 24, 2023. In her final days and hours, Janna was surrounded by those who loved her. Janna was born on October 19, 1984 in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. She was the daughter of Nancy Cameron Riggs (Roger) and David Reid (Corinne).

Janna was predeceased by her loving father in February, 2023.
Janna attended UPEI where she received her Bachelor of Science and then furthered her education by completing her LPN in Calgary. Janna spent time living in Australia, Korea, and Calgary before returning to Prince Edward Island to raise her family with her husband, Ryan Kowalski. Janna will be remembered by all those who knew her as the heart of every room. She had the warmest smile, an easy-going laugh, and always made others feel comfortable wherever she went.
Janna will be deeply missed by her husband, Ryan; daughters, Mia and Liv; mother, Nancy Riggs (Roger) and stepmom Corinne Reid; sister Rebecca Gregory (Todd), stepsister Hanna Riggs, mother-in-law Jean Kowalski, sister-in-law Sonya (Frank Suppa), and brothers-in-law Shawn Kowalski and Jason Kowalski (Chantal); her nieces and nephews, Derek, Peyton, Lauryn, Liliana, Melena, Ellery, Lincoln, Adalyn; her Grampy Doug, and her many aunts, uncles and cousins. Janna was loved deeply by her many close friends, as well as by her supportive colleagues at Dr. Randy MacKinnon’s office.
Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home for visitation on Thursday, Oct.26, 2023 from 4-7pm. A celebration of life will be held at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home on Friday, Oct.27, 2023 at 10:30am in the funeral home chapel.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Home Care for their daily support, the rehabilitation therapists at the QEH, as well as the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre. If so desired, donations may be made to the PEI Cancer Treatment Centre in loving memory of Janna.
