Joseph Ralph "Dewey" Dunn

1951-2023

Joseph Ralph "Dewey" Dunn

Peacefully with his family by his side, Joesph Ralph (Dewey) Dunn passed away on October 20, 2023, at the Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He is survived by his children Jason Dunn (Sherry MacDonald), Sherri Dunn (Shawn MacIntyre), and Derrick Dunn. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Jean (nee Dunn) Rose and Pauline (nee Dunn) Doyle.

His childhood in Mount Stewart instilled a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, and he loved to speak about it with anyone who would listen. He lived for any ball tournament going on in surrounding communities and was always there to lend a helping hand. Anyone who was fortunate to have shared a part in his life will have fond memories of his strength in character and quick-witted jokes.

He leaves behind his grandchildren Christina Dunn, Gracie Dunn, Zackary Pirch, Brendan MacIntyre, Chase Laybolt, Hunter Laybolt, Kyle Murphy, Brett Murphy and Nathan Eldershaw. Predeceased by his parents, Maude and Ralph Dunn; wife, Edna (nee Feehan) Dunn; twin daughters, Brenda (nee Dunn) Laybolt and Belinda (nee Dunn) Laybolt; Great Granddaughter, Tessa Murphy and Brother-In-Laws Junior Rose and Ronnie Doyle.

Visitation will be held at Hennessy Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home on Tuesday October 24, 2023, from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Mount Stewart, on October 25, 2023, at 10:30AM. All friends and family are welcome.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joesph Ralph (Dewey) Dunn’s memory to St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church or the Palliative Care Centre.
