Cecil John Molyneaux

At the QEH on Tuesday, May 30th just shy of his 90th birthday with family by his side, John "Cecil" Molyneaux slipped away peacefully. Cecil was born July 1st,1933 to Roy and Mary (McKenna) Molyneaux. Cecil had many homes but his love and life was in Kelly’s Cross, where he continued to attend church services every Saturday until his passing.

Husband, father, Grampie, and Great Grampie; Cecil was better known to all of us as simply "Grampie". Grampie was a lucky man who had the good fortune to have been loved by two wonderful women, Mary (Matters) Molyneaux and Dorothy (Webster) Molyneaux (Deceased). Cecil is leaving behind many who loved him and is joining those who have gone before him. Cecil leaves behind his children: Austin (Deceased) (Tammy Doratty) B.C, Ken (Kathy) AB, Merrill (Trudy Klassen) AB, Darlene (Jack) Lowther, PEI, Elaine Molyneaux, PEI, Jacqueline Molyneaux (Bob Petrie) PEI, Brian (Leanne) N.S,  Kim (Stephen) Curley, PEI, Rob Molyneaux, AB, Louie (Catherine) AB. Step sons David (Ont) and Doug (Winnipeg) Webster. Predeceased by granddaughter, Tanya. He also leaves behind many grandchildren: Tamara, Chris, Jacqueline, Amanda, Rob, Riley, Kelly, Kelsey, Courtney, Michael, Patrick, Meagan, Mikayla, Hana, Matthew, Cory, Jordan, Brienna, Kailey, Mitchell, Noah, Austin, Erica, and Jesse. Also survived by his many great grandchildren.

Cecil is survived by his brother Lloyd (Marina) Ont., and sister Dorthy Molyneaux (PEI), sister-in-law, Sr. Rita Matters and brother-in-law, Joe Matters (PEI). He is predeceased by his brother, Leroy, and sister, Marie(Eddie), as well as his brother-in-laws, Clarence Matters, Jim (Lois) Matters, and Walter Matters. He is survived by his sister-in-laws, Marg Matters and Patricia (Leroy) Molyneaux whom we can’t thank enough for her kindness. He will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family would extend a special thank you to all the staff at the QEH who were so kind to Grampie. To his neighbors, we will be forever grateful for all you have done to help Grampie as he aged. A special thank you to Jamie Thomson for your gentleness with him and to Carla Murphy, whom Cecil considered his other daughter, for all your help and kindness. The family extends a thank you to all who were in Cecil’s life, he truly treasured you. Cecil loved a party and all his family and friends were planning on attending his upcoming birthday celebration so the family has decided to honor him by having it.
