Twila Lynn (Garby) Connell

1949-2023

Twila Lynn (Garby) Connell

If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!

Peacefully at, The Provincial Palliative Care Center, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, of Twila (Tide) Lynn Connell formerly of Cambridge Nova Scotia aged 73 years.

Born in Windsor on November 12, 1949 daughter of the late Laurie and Myrtle (Goucher) Garby of Kentville Nova Scotia.

Loving and devoted wife of the late Robert Connell, mother of son Rob (Nora) Connell and daughter Angela (Jason) Roberts. Grammy to Jordyn Connell, Matthew Roberts, Jack Roberts, and Zachary Connell.

Survived by siblings Hazel, Roy, Cheryl, John, Kim, and Lorelei. Predeceased by brother Leslie. Also survived by a circle of sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Twila was vibrant, compassionate, loving, and had the best sense of humor. She was a devoted wife and mother as her family relocated with the RCMP several times over the years. Twila was always building long-lasting relationships, having fun, and grounding her family with every new location. Twila’s love of life always had her playing games and spending time with family and friends. She loved to shop! In stores or on the side of the road, she loved all the treasures she found. She took great love and pride in her gardens which included some tricks for getting rid of those pesky crows. She had various jobs over her life, but the ones she spoke most fondly of were the time she spent working in a nursing home and the position she helped as a Community Support Worker while living in Botwood, NL. She loved people and people loved her. Twila’s love for her husband, Robert left her missing him terribly. She waited for him and he brought her home. We will miss you terribly.

A special thank you to the staff at Andrews of Stratford for providing our mother with all your love and attention, the staff of Unit 8 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for your consideration of care, the entire staff at Palliative Care Center for supporting our entire family, and finally to Dr. Chaudhry, Nurse Pam Roach and the PEI Renal Clinic for being who we all needed you to be.

Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home.  No funeral or visitation by request. A celebration of life for Bob and Twila will be held at a later date.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or to the PEI Provincial Palliative Care Center.
