Shirley Anne Redmond

On Tuesday, February 7, Shirley Anne Redmond (MacKenzie) passed away peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, following a brief illness. She was in her 90th year. Loving wife of the late Joe Redmond (1980).

Loving Mother of Michael (Rhonda) and proud Grandmother of Joseph, Sarah, Katie (Chandler Bowlan) and Nick. Sister-in-law of Joyce MacKenzie, Marie Connolly, Lorraine Costello (Kevin), and Gail MacDonald. Shirley is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Shirley was the last remaining member of her family. Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Ella (Hughes) MacKenzie, sisters Adeline Carver (Reuben), Erma Keddy (Carl) and Patsy Williams (Sterling) and brothers Arthur (Vivian), Kenny (Carol), and Merlin MacKenzie. Also predeceased by Joyce Redmond, Phyllis (Wilfred) Cullen, Henry Redmond (Norma), Edward Redmond and James Connolly.

Special thank you to the owners and staff at Burnside Community Care where Mom felt so "at home" and received excellent care for the past 2  years. Also, a special thank you to Dr. Michelle McKenna for her compassionate care at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home from where the funeral will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, February 11th at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, February 11th beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
