Kim MacDonald (nee Kimberly Kathleen Shaw)

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kim MacDonald, nee Kimberly Kathleen Shaw.  Kim was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in May, 2022 and spent the last nine months of her short life just as she had always lived in the care and loving embrace of her family. She left us too soon on Sunday, January 15th, 2023 at the age of 52.
Family was the most important thing to Kim and she blessed us all with love and laughter throughout her life. She will always be remembered for her kind spirit, beautiful smile and her incredible sense of humor. She is gone too soon. We will miss her and do our best to honour her memory every day.
She is survived by many including her husband and the love of her life, Paul MacDonald. They met as teenagers and had over 36 wonderful years together. They were blessed with 4 beautiful children, Austin, Malcolm, Liam and Bella and one adorable grand-daughter Ellie, all of whom made Kim so proud and happy every day.
As well as her own loving family, she is survived by her mother, Kay Shaw, her sister Lesley (Craig Ramsay) and her nieces and nephews, Kayla, Parker, Micah-Angela and Jack, as well as many nieces and nephews through her husband’s family, the MacDonalds’.
Though we miss her beyond words we take some solace knowing that she is with her father, Lester Shaw and her beautiful brother Jonathan Shaw, who both went before her. We know that they will welcome her with a big hug and guide her on her way. We feel their love and know that they are all watching over us.
Kim was blessed to have had a life full of love and we are grateful for every minute we had with her.
Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home for visiting hours on Sunday, January 22nd from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 23rd at 11:00 am at the Canoe Cove Presbyterian Church, located at 113 Park Rd, Canoe Cove, PE.  Light luncheon to follow at the Canoe Cove School House, located at 1066 Canoe Cove Rd, Canoe Cove, PE.
