Godelieve Clarey

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Godelieve Clarey at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the age of 94 years.

Wife of the late Peter Clarey. Beloved mother of John (Leilane), Winnipeg, MB, Alva (Cathy), Charlottetown, Deborah (Stratford), and Brenda (Gerald) Crawford, Woodstock, NB. Cherished grandmother of 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She also had numerous nieces and nephews in Canada and Belgium, as well as 2 half sisters and a half brother. She was predeceased by her parents, Leon VanVooren and Judith Vanhauwaert, her in-laws, Alva and Sadie Allen, sister-in-law Elizabeth, brothers-in-law John and George Clarey, and five sibling sisters in Belgium.

Mom was born in Destlebergen, Belgium. She was a war bride who came to Canada (Montague PEI) IN August of 1946 with her son John.

With Mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services or life celebration.

Thank you to Dr. O’Brien, family physician and to all the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Staff, as well as Palliative Care Staff who provided her with great care and comfort during her final days.
