Robert Bruce "Rob" MacDonald

1951-2022

Robert Bruce "Rob" MacDonald

Robert MacDonald, age 70, passed away peacefully in his sleep in his home on Tuesday the 29th of March. Robert was born on October 22nd, 1951, to his mother, Edith MacDonald and his father, Wallace MacDonald. Rob excelled at anything he put his mind to and was a jack of all trades.  He was a master fisherman whose grace with a fly rod would have tourists stopping in their tracks to take pictures. He was a true tinkerer at heart and could build or fix just about anything whether it was mechanical or electrical in nature.  He was often found putting his many talents to use helping friends, family and neighbors. He loved to cook for his family and even if it was 20 below, he would often be seen on his deck grilling a delicious feast of clams, lobster and steak.  Rob went back to school later in life and had a change in career where he began working for the Prince Edward Island government in the IT field in the year 2000. Rob had an impeccable work ethic and was loved and respected by all.  He is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Stewart) MacDonald, devoted daughter Jennifer (Stephen) Bell, beloved grandchildren Aidan and Gavin, his cherished sister Marie (Ralph) Fraser, brother-in-law Carl Canning and mother-in-law Janet Stewart, along with his many nieces and nephews and his much-loved labs Myrna and Kiwi. He was predeceased by his mother, Edith "Nanny" MacDonald, his father, Wallace "Wally" MacDonald and his sister Janet Canning.
