Sharon Elizabeth Donald
The family of Sharon Donald is saddened to announce her passing on September 12, 2021 at the Queen Elizabeth II , Halifax, Infirmary after a recent illness. Sharon was born in October 1943 in Gagetown, NB. Sharon was predeceased by her father Sterling (Chubby) Allen and her mother A. Gertrude (Honey) Canney and her step-father John P. Canney. Sharon was also predeceased by her husband Leigh Bearisto Donald (2012) and by her beloved dog Magic (2015). Sharon is survived by her daughter Gerelyn (Bev) Moore, Fredericton, NB, and her brother Richard Allen(Jacqueline) of Brampton, Ontario. Also surviving Sharon are her stepchildren, Dr. Greg (Cindy) Donald, NB. Garry ((Ruth) Donald and Gaelyne (David) Norris, NS.
 
Sharon is survived by her Aunt Barb (late Reid) Smith, Fredericton, and Uncles Harold (Joan) Boulter, Vernon, BC., Ken (Florence) Boulter, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta as well as many cousins. She was predeceased by Aunts Verda, Viola, Esther, and Leela on the Allen side of the family but is survived by several cousins.
 
Sharon moved with Leigh to PEI in 1977 and this became their new home. She loved the red soil island, the sun, salt water, the wind off the water, boating and digging clams. In later years she spent much time at the cottage planting flowers, feeding and watching the hummingbirds and visiting beaches such as Coulson’s Shore.
 
Over her life Sharon had various places of employment but her last employment was at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown where she made lasting friendships.
 
At Sharon’s request there will be no visitation or funeral.  A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens , Pleasant Valley on Wednesday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, Charlottetown.
