Reverend Joseph Brazel

Peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday, September 13, 2021 of Reverend Joseph Brazel, Priest of the Diocese of Charlottetown age 82 years.

Ordained for the Diocese of Charlottetown on June 4, 1967 , Fr. Joe served in priestly ministry at St. Mary’s Holy Family Parish, Kensington, St. Patrick’s , Grand River, St. Bridget’s, Foxley River, St. Anne’s, Lennox Island, St. Peter’s, Seven Mile Bay, Sacred Heart, Borden, St. Mark’s, Burton, St. Bernadette’s, Lot 7, St. Mary’s, Souris and St. Paul’s, Summerside.

Born in Ft. Augustus he is the son of the late Thomas and Annie (Praught) Brazel. Fr. Joe is lovingly remembered by his sisters Peggy Walsh, Helen Doran, his nieces and nephews and members of the Murray and MacDonald families. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his brothers John, Melvin and Lawrence, his sister Marie Claybourne and three siblings in infancy.

Resting at Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home, Fr. Joe’s wake will be held on Friday, September 17th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. With COVID-19 restrictions in place, visitation will be by invitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St.Patrick’s Church, Ft. Augustus on Saturday, September 18th at 10:30 a.m. by invitation.
