Ernest Reuben "Ernie" Doyle

The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 of Ernie Doyle, World War II Veteran, of Savage Harbour in his 93rd year.

Beloved husband of the late Norma Doyle and dear father of Cheryl (Robert) Walsh, Brenda Lee (Parker) MacDonald and Eddie (Janet) Doyle. Ernie will also be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his grandchildren Penny (Ryan) Walsh-McGuire, Kyler Walsh, Kendra (Pete) Pasciucco, Kelsey MacDonald and Jillian, Erin and Lydia Doyle. Dear brother of Earl (Joan), Helen and Anne. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Elwood Donnelly; sisters-in-law Denise, Irene and Pauline Doyle and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Ernie was predeceased by his parents Barbara and Elisha Doyle, sisters Ethel, Veronica, Mary, and brothers Ronnie, Foncie, Bernie, John A., Gerald and Leonard.

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Monday afternoon, then transferred to St. Andrew’s Church, Mt. Stewart for funeral mass at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Branch #1 and Branch #4 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a veteran’s tribute service at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:45 p.m.

If so desired memorial contributions in Ernie’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Parish Cemetery Fund.
