Phillip James Flemming
Phillip James Flemming passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 25th at the age of 68.

Phil is the son of the late Clary and Sue Flemming of Halifax and Charlottetown. Born on September 14th, 1944, Phil is survived by his wife Loretta, sons Darren (Jackie), and Jeff (Haley), brother Clary (Eleanor) step-daughters Holly Clark and Chelsea Clarke-Martin, Donna Spencer, mother to grandchildren Holly and Summer Flemming, brother-in-law Brian Redmond and nephews and nieces in Ontario and Ohio.

Phil was also pre-deceased by his first wife, Ethel (Smith) Flemming, sister Joan (Flemming) Redmond, and brother, Bruce.

Phil began his career in the electricians trade in Charlottetown, eventually moving onto the union side of the industry. He took on challenges in Prince Edward, Newfoundland, and Ontario. Phil proudly reached the pinnacle of his 43-year career with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), becoming International Vice President in 2005, a position he held at the time of his passing. His career was filled with accolades and great friendships.

In his leisure time, Phil enjoyed golf, boating, and the company of friends and family.

Family visitation was held at the W. John Thomas Funeral Home in Alliston, Ontario on Tuesday, May 28th. Another visitation will take place at the Hennnesey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home from 2 to 5PM on May 31st. Following will be the burial ceremony and a reception. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers will hold another memorial service in Phillip’s honor at a time yet to be announced.
