Peter John Buchanan

Peter John Buchanan

October 20, 1943 - December 15, 2020

‘That man is a success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much.

-Robert Louis Stevenson

These are words of wisdom by the author of Treasure Island, words that are very much befitting of the life, laughter and love of Peter John Buchanan.

Passing peacefully at home in North Wiltshire, lung cancer may have taken him after 77 years as a devoted son, loving husband, proud father, caring grandpa, and trusted friend, but the ending will not be his legacy.

Provider, confidant, supporter, mentor, educator, horseman – those roles he fulfilled just scratch the surface of what Peter brought to the world.

His love, humour, and spirit will be forever remembered and dearly missed by his wife Beth, sons Peter and Scott, grandchildren Zachary, Jeremy, Jacob, Alexandra and Lily, and his many family and friends near and far.

His father Peter, mother May, and sister Valerie all left him far too soon, and now they are reunited, joined in eternal rest and peace.

Special thank you to Dr. M.Miller, Dr. J.Peterson and the staff at the Cancer Treatment Centre at the QEH. Love and appreciation to Kathy & Lorie for the care they provided in this long journey.

There will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Peter’s name to:

Queen’s County Home Care.

John Yeo Dr, Charlottetown, PE C1E 1V5

His Treasure was his family, and the Island was his home.

Thank you Peter, Dad, Grandpa, for your life truly well lived.
