Mildred Irenus "Millie" Roberts-Doyle

1940-2020

Mildred Irenus "Millie" Roberts-Doyle

It is with profound sadness to announce that after a short but peaceful battle with cancer, Mildred "Millie" Irenus Roberts-Doyle of Hunt Ave, Charlottetown has gone to her final resting place in heaven. Millie will be dearly missed by her husband Philip Doyle; her children MaryLou and Bobby (Julie) Morrison; her beloved grandchildren Laurel (Evan) Fraser, Erika MacDonald (George Melitides), Walker MacDonald (Alysha Clement), Michael Morrison (Jesse Gregory), Myranda Newson, Ryan Johnston, William, Robert, and Jack Morrison; great grandchildren Brooklyn Stretch, Jorie and Aubrey Fraser; brother Jackie Roberts and sister Barbara "Barbie" Flood; daughter-in-law Tricia Newson; stepchildren Pauline, Patrick and Kim, along with the Doyle family; multiple nieces and nephews; and the many colleagues and friends Millie made during her 20 years at the PEI Provincial Government.

Millie is predeceased by her parents Jack and Annie Roberts; sisters Electa Fisher and Margaret "Margie" Redmond; and her son William "Billy" Morrison.

Millie taught her 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren to love unconditionally, to be kind, patient, thoughtful, and generous, and to have faith in what God had in store for them. She was so proud of each of them and made sure everyone knew it. Millie loved to dance in the kitchen to an Irish jig while she sang along with the tune and cooked supper for a house full of family and friends. She considered anyone who darkened the door to be one of her own and cared deeply about each of them. Millie’s life touched many and she will live on in the countless stories we will all tell.

Due to the current restrictions, there will be no visitation or funeral at this time.

The family asks for you to share any stories you may have about Millie here: www.islandowned.ca

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Foundation or the PEI Humane Society.
