Sister Bertha McCarthy CSM (Sister Patrick Maureen)

Suddenly at the Mount Continuing Care Community on Monday, June 12, 2017, of Sister Bertha McCarthy CSM, (Sister Patrick Maureen) age 84 years.

Born in Green Meadows, PE she is the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (McQuaid) McCarthy. She is survived by her sisters Annette (Thomas) Grant, Halifax, NS., Patricia (Reggie deceased) MacIntyre, New Market, ON.; Rita (Leonard) MacDonald, Burlington, ON., brother, Leo (Florence) Malone, St. Catherine’s, ON., and sister-in-law Pearl Grant of Summerside. She is also fondly remembered by her Martha Sisters, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her brothers Merlin (Verna) and Gerard.

Transferred from the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home to the Mount Continuing Care Chapel for visiting hours on Thursday, June 15^th, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday , June 16^th, with funeral mass from The Mount Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Congregation of St. Martha Cemetery. Please note there will be no visiting hours the morning of the funeral. The Charlottetown Hospital Nurses Alumnae will hold a prayer service on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
