Rose Marie Mitchell (nee McPhee)

Rose Marie Mitchell (nee McPhee), of Charlottetown, passed away at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre on Monday, June 12, 2017, age 72 years. Born in Glace Bay, NS, she was a daughter of the late Ambrose and Margaret (nee MacKinnon) McPhee.

Rose is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years Morgan; sons Joe (Colleen), Shawn (Sarah) and Patrick (Joanna); daughter Shannon (Dave) Hodgson; nephew James Mitchell; grandchildren Dakota, Keegan, Brayden and Casey Mitchell, Olivia Hodsgon and Connor McLean; great grandson Kane Mitchell; brothers Joseph (Grace), Frank (Theresa) and Neil (Inga) McPhee; sister Mary "Minnie" (John) Morrison; special relatives Anne, Jennifer, Cassie, Cody and Kevin McPhee, and Shane Morrison; best friends Bobby and Kathleen Adams, and Kay Jay. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Julia Mitchell; brothers-in-law Gerald (Sheila), Regan (Colette), David (Marilyn) and John (Claire Nantes) Mitchell; sisters-in-law Julia (Claude Parent) and Mary (Al Dowling).

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister in infancy and her father-in-law R. Gerald Mitchell.

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Friday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Charlottetown.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 6-9 p.m.

Donations in memory of Rose may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
