Rita C. M. Morrison (nee MacDonald)

It is with great sadness, we announce after a short illness, the passing of Rita C. M. Morrison (nee MacDonald) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, February 5, 2017 of Charlottetown, age 97 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Cyril A. "Cy" Morrison of Savage Harbour. Rita was a loving wife and a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Leaving to mourn are her three children Allan, Vince (Shelley) and Gerianne Carragher. She is also survived by four cherished grandchildren Brittany, Brad, Rayelle and Michayla; sisters, Bernadette Pineau, Boston and Anita Hughes, Stratford; brother, Jack MacDonald (Marion), Montreal, Que.; brother-in-Law Jim McGuigan.

She was predeceased by her parents Donald and Bertha (nee MacDonald) MacDonald; brothers, Donald "Dee", Harold and Urban MacDonald; sisters, Mary Coade (Joe), Bernice MacLean (Ron) and Theresa McGuigan; infant sister, Patricia; son-in-law, Johnnie Carragher; brothers-in-law Bob Pineau and Jack Hughes.

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home until Thursday morning, then transferred to St. Andrew’s Church, Mount Stewart for funeral mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Visiting hours at the funeral home on Wednesday 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.

The Holy Redeemer CWL will hold a prayer service at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.

If so desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Crohn’s & Colitis Chapter PEI or the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Foundation.
