Sheila Marie Vaive (nee Butler)

1961-2016

Sheila Marie Vaive (nee Butler)

Sheila Marie Vaive (nee Butler) passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax surrounded by family on Sunday Nov 13, 2016. Sheila fought a long, hard battle with diabetes and kidney disease. She never complained and was always concerned for others right up until the very end. We have never met someone who faced her disease with such grace, courage, strength and resilience. We are all better for having known her. Sheila is lovingly remembered by her daughter Nicole, brothers Andy Butler (Carol) and John Butler (Lynn), sister Cathy Shaw and special Aunt Imelda Clory. Sheila always enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her nephews Steven Butler, Brandon and Ryan Shaw and nieces Laura and Sarah Butler. She will also be greatly missed by her special furry friend Mazie. Sheila was predeceased by her loving and supportive parents John and Teresa Butler(nee Rossiter).

On behalf of Sheila, the family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who have provided care to her over the years especially the nurses and staff at the Dialysis unit at the QEH, who became her extended family. Doctors Chaudhary, Jones, Adams, Baglole, Flanagan, Cunniffe, German, Dow (Moncton), Schweiger (Moncton), Hirsh (Halifax) and Loubanni (Halifax).

Sheila and her family were grateful to the many friends and relatives who helped her out over the last number of years providing transportation, meals, visits, etc. Your support, love and friendship were very much appreciated. Sheila was also grateful
to Nicole's friends for the ongoing support they have provided to her.

"It's so sad that you had to go, your leaving caused such pain but you were so very special and earth's loss is heaven's gain. "

Donations can be made in Sheila's name to the Dialysis unit at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PEI.
