Helen Viola Wheatley, R.N.

The death occurred peacefully of Helen Viola Wheatley (nee Shaw) at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home on Wednesday, October 5, 2016, age 78 years. Born in Uigg, PE she was a daughter Ernest and Murdena (nee MacLeod) Shaw.

Beloved wife of the late John Wesley Wheatley and cherished mother of Carolyn (Steve) Hughes, John (Diane) Wheatley and Patti (Andy) Wheatley Gallant. Loving grandmother of Tarin Hughes, Amy, Emma and Katelyn Wheatley. She is survived by sister Virginia Enman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helen lived each day with proud dignity, humble acceptance, and ladylike grace. We will miss her beautiful smile, loving nature, sense of humour, and motherly love.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the caring staff at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home for all of their support.

Resting at the Hennessey Cutcliffe Charlottetown Funeral Home where the celebration of Helen’s life will be held on Friday, October 7^th at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place in St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery, Vernon River, with a reception to follow.
